Fresh from their memorable Roundhouse mainstage performance at Frank Turner’s Lost Evenings, agit punk duo deux furieuses invite you to ‘Silenced by the Roar’ single launch. Last year’s debut album Tracks of Wire produced by Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey) topped many best album lists and made Louder Than War’s Top Ten Albums of the Year. deux furieuses return with visceral new single ‘Silenced by the Roar’ produced by Mark Freegard (The Breeders), a politicised song of defiance and hope.
“Silenced by the Roar is a needling, buzzsaw riff with lyrics that speak of the frustrations of British life in 2017” CLASH
“Anger masterclass” Q MAGAZINE

SPECIAL GUESTS
LOCKS are a Waits-infused, skeletal-blues band based in North London made up of L.Geary-Griffin (lead vocal / guitar), Mike Byrne (double bass), Marian McClenagan (fiddle) and more recently joined by Andy Marvell on drums. After playing with a variety of different bands with genres spanning rockabilly, trad Irish, celtic punk, indie and nu-folk they found themselves in a rehearsal room together writing parts of murder ballads involving burying bodies, strange creatures and dark family secrets.
There is a subtle fixation on the darker, unnerving aspects of life and death whilst keeping a jaunty, roots based rhythm flowing underneath. Having just returned from the BBC Introducing stage at The Great Escape, these misfits are continuing to slyly pick their way through the musical undergrowth.
“Don’t let the traditional instruments fool you, this band set the volume high” BBC INTRODUCING
