Eat You Own Ears Presents |
Emerson Snowe is the project of Brisbane native, Jarrod Mahon. A familiar figure in the indie scene as the bassist of The Creases, this solo moniker takes a darker and more autobiographical direction for the singer, writer, artist, poet and multi- instrumentalist. The prolific side project began after quitting the drink 9 months ago to focus on producing artistically and taking stock of his feelings of vulnerability – “I have never been more happy with myself and content with who I am and my creativity then I have since I have stopped drinking. “
‘Could You Love Me’, mastered by Andre-Johansson Walder (The Goon Sax’s Up To Anything), is the sixth EP that he has independently released, it is the sixth EP in six weeks (20 or more EP’s are up on his Bandcamp which were done in 2 or so months). Each week Jarrod would write a track a day within a 30-minute time frame, what ever the first idea was, that’s what would stay. One of the points of the project is to have as much honesty and as little thought as possible – “It’s so easy to continuously create layers to a song, I found myself getting too tied up in that and I was unable to even realise where a track was going”.
Jarrod has played with Courtney Barnett, The Antlers, Kirin J. Callinan, These New South Whales, The Temper Trap.
