Kilimanjaro Live Presents |
The ability to harness the best bits from songwriting heavy hitters such as Paul McCartney, Neil Finn and Brett Anderson in and of itself is an achievement. Combined, it’s a feat; and in spite of what could sound like an oddball cacophony, Chris Simmons does it so well that he boasts direct support from both Chris Difford of Squeeze fame, and the legendary Jackson Browne.
After losing a number of close family members and leaving Chris with no choice but to take time away, 20198 saw him begin to rebuild the foundations of his craft and career as an artist. Releasing his ‘London Fields’ EP in November, backed by a sold-out hometown show, Chris has slowly but surely regained a solid footing and is now only striving for excellence.
Having been invited on European arena support shows with Passenger as well as Stu Larsen at the end of 2018, Simmons embarked on a headline tour across Germany and Switzerland in March saw sold out shows. Chris will be bringing his spellbinding live shows back home to the UK in May ’19 to support Supergrass legend Gaz Coombes, also on sold out dates. 2019 for Chris promises more new music with whispers of a debut album, plus further opportunities both in the UK and across Europe to catch his haunting brilliance live.
